Most people understand the “Dog Days of Summer” as the hot, sultry days from the middle of July to the middle of August, but at Magnolia Green we consider it the final weekend our pools are open for the season, aka “Dog-a-Pool-Ooza.”
The idea of Dog-a-Pool-Ooza, inspired by Tom Page, the Captain of our Magnolia Green ship (read his past #MyMagnolia blog post here ), may have seemed far-“fetched” to some at first, but it went so swimmingly last year that we couldn’t think of any reason not to repeat it.
On your “bark”, get set, go!
On Saturday, September 9th, we invited our residents to bring their furry friends for a splashing good time at our Arbor Walk Pool. From Labradors and Retrievers to Shih Tzus and Pugs, we witnessed some expert doggy-paddling and nonstop tail-wagging.
In addition to the fun in the sun, we also had the opportunity to raise ($150) money for our partners, the wonderful Richmond Animal League and Capital Area Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) through a charitable raffle.
All said and done, Dog-a-pool-ooza was “pawsitively” a huge success!
I mean, look at those smiles!
If you’re having a “ruff” day or you just love looking at pictures of cute dogs (like we do), check out our Facebook Page for more pictures of our 2nd annual Dog-a-pool-ooza!
